With the ban of new gas car sales by 2035 in the EU and a couple of American states, batteries have a long road in front of them. However, strong environmental concerns around the production and lifecycle management of batteries imply new standards and regulations that need to be anticipated in product development today. The entire relocation of such a gigantic industry and the structural change that comes with electrification will no doubt be a catalyst for innovation.
