Cuisinons nos Paysages raises €3M from Citizen Capital and Banque des Territoires to scale up its vegetable-processing and canning workshop model

Paris, 16 June 2026Cuisinons nos Paysages (CnP), a network of workshops processing locally grown vegetables, announces a €3 million fundraise from Agri Impact, Citizen Capital’s agricultural fund managed in partnership with the Avril foundation, and from Banque des Territoires. The long-term goal is to give every territory a locally rooted processing facility tailored to its own challenges, serving healthier, more sustainable and more local food.

A food production model in need of reinvention

50% of the fruit and vegetables consumed in France are imported — 10% more than 20 years ago. The degree of food self-sufficiency of the 100 largest urban areas is below 2%. At the same time, 2% of agri-food companies account for 85% of the sector’s revenue, reflecting an industrial concentration that marginalises mid-sized players and weakens outlets for local producers.

A virtuous network serving a strong need across France’s territories

In response, Cuisinons nos Paysages has developed a novel model: taking over or creating mid-sized vegetable-processing and canning workshops, located close to major metropolitan areas and working within a 150 to 200 km radius. Building on a semi-artisanal model that prioritises direct sourcing, organic produce and the EGalim standards, these workshops make use of off-calibre vegetables that cannot be sold through mass retail or do not fit standardised industrial lines. A central network body pools tools, skills and support functions without imposing a centralised model: each site keeps its local roots and territorial identity

With two vegetable-processing and canning workshops in operation (Agriviva in Montpellier and La Manufacture de Légumes in Breuschwickersheim, near Strasbourg), CnP has a solid track record:

  • 1,600 tonnes of produce processed (washed, peeled, debacterised and cut) in 2025, 25% of it organic
  • 120 partner farmers
  • 60 employees, including 10 on work-integration pathways
  • 200 clients (local authorities, contract catering companies, care homes, university hospitals, student services, SMEs and craft businesses, wholesalers)

We did not pick the easiest subject, but perhaps one of the most meaningful: betting on diversity to build resilience, and pooling whatever can be pooled to reach economic balance. We are proud of the trust placed in us by Citizen Capital and Banque des Territoires; over the coming years they will help us deliver on our mission: helping every territory cook its own landscapes.Augustin Le Goaster, co-founder of Cuisinons nos Paysages

€3M to roll out the model across France

On the back of this funding round, combined with €3M in France 2030 funding secured in 2024 under the Agri-Food Resilience and Capacity programme, Cuisinons nos Paysages is targeting a network of 5 vegetable-processing and canning workshops by 2028, with at least one new acquisition as early as 2026. The aim: to progressively cover France’s main production and consumption areas, giving each territory concerned a viable processing facility so that contract catering players can access fresh, local, high-quality produce.

Antoine Vedrenne, Partner at Citizen Capital, says:

By reshaping production, processing and consumption models, Cuisinons nos Paysages has a systemic impact on its sector. At Citizen Capital, we are delighted to support this project, which promotes direct sourcing while also providing farmers with additional income.

About Cuisinons nos Paysages
In 2023, Augustin Le Goaster, Clément Lefebvre and FoodBiome joined forces to build and sustain a national network of vegetable-processing and canning workshops, rethinking the underlying business model.

  • Target mid-sized workshops, close to major metropolitan areas, working within a 150 to 200 km radius, to avoid the economic dead end of insufficiently mechanised workshops
  • Pool as many skills, tools and support functions as possible within a central team, to reduce overheads at each workshop and build know-how faster by capitalising on each site’s experience.

As of 2026, Cuisinons nos Paysages has two vegetable-processing and canning workshops in operation, at the Montpellier wholesale market and near Strasbourg, and intends to take over or create one new workshop every year, as close as possible to consumption areas, to rebuild the link between farmers, market gardeners, contract catering players and local authorities.
