Agriculture
A strategy dedicated to farmers
We finance projects led by farmers, enabling them to set up, diversify, and increase their income, and to promote their transition to agroecological practices.
We are committed to financing the emergence of new models that make this possible, through our two funds:
The challenges of agroecological transition are manifold
Current agricultural economic models do not take into account the environmental costs and benefits of agricultural activities, placing the burden of transition solely on farmers.
Financial
The transition requires investments that are difficult for farmers with limited incomes to afford. It also involves a financial risk that they bear alone.
Technical
Some agroecological practices are complex to implement, and a lack of training limits their adoption.
Cultural
Farmers, processors, distributors, and consumers may all express cultural resistance to the transformation of the agri-food model.
With our investment funds dedicated to farmers, we seek in particular to remove systemic barriers to agroecological transition: the challenge is not only for farmers, but for the entire agri-food system to evolve.
In a changing political context, we reaffirm our commitment to a resilient agriculture that respects life.
