Midiflore raises €1.5 million to reinvent sustainable agriculture through aeroponics
When access to agricultural land becomes a luxury, and France still imports most of its herbs—particularly basil and chives—Midiflore is rethinking the fundamentals.
We are proud to join this project with our Agri Impact fund, in this fundraising campaign led alongside Région Sud Investissement, to support more sustainable, more autonomous, and more inclusive agriculture.
Why it’s transformative:
🔹 Consumption of aromatic herbs is skyrocketing, but the industry remains heavily dependent on imports.
🔹 A major agricultural innovation: 90% water savings, zero pesticides, doubled productivity, and a project that has already been awarded the France 2030 label.
🔹 Midiflore offers a local solution: an aeroponic greenhouse installed in Hyères, at the heart of a 7-hectare farm.
🎯 Precision agriculture with impact.
Founded in 1987 and taken over by Sylvie Recouvrot-Midiflore and Thierry Recouvrot in 2016, Midiflore has transitioned from a traditional model to a high-performance, committed, and resilient industry.
The 2,500 m² aeroponic greenhouse can produce up to 100 tons of basil per year, all seasons combined—reducing land pressure and the industry’s carbon footprint.
💡 And the impact doesn’t stop there:
→ 15 jobs created, a quarter of which are reserved for political refugees thanks to a collaboration with FACE VAR
→ A processing unit under consideration (pesto made from unsellable leaves)
→ A new step towards more circular, more social agriculture
🎙 “Opening up our capital is a key step. With Agri Impact and RSI, we have found caring, attentive partners who are helping us grow in the right direction.” – Sylvie Recouvrot-Midiflore, co-founder of Midiflore
At Citizen, we believe in regenerative, resilient, and inclusive agriculture. This is what Midiflore embodies, and we are proud to support them. 🌱
