Since mid-2025, Citizen Capital has been incubating Margin Ventures, the fund project of Mehdi Belkahla, former investment director at Citizen Capital, and Anas Jaballah.
With a strategy focused on pre-seed and seed funding, and investments ranging from €0.2 million to €2 million, Margin Ventures is interested in entrepreneurs who do not fit the usual VC mould, whether in terms of social background (including gender and immigrant status), geography or academic background, with a focus on three themes with high inclusion stakes: sustainability, health and education, and inclusive technology and AI. This investment thesis strongly echoes Citizen Capital’s initial impact thesis when it was founded in 2008!
The Margin Ventures project began to take shape in 2025, while Mehdi was still working at Citizen Capital. This period played a key role in the fund’s development.
Now incubated by Citizen Capital, Margin Ventures benefits from strategic and operational support, while retaining its independence. The fund relies in particular on Citizen Capital’s legal infrastructure and regulatory framework, a configuration that facilitates its launch and allows it to focus fully on deploying its investment strategy.
Margin Venture is moving towards its initial closing target of €30 million in 2026.
