Facilitating the social and professional integration of young refugees or immigrants while promoting the experience of working people aged 50+ and retirees in France.
DUO for a JOB connects young job seekers with volunteer mentors over the age of 50 who are a good match for them and who will boost their chances on the job market.
Duo for a Job is supported by our Citizen Impact Bond Fund.
FINDINGS
Young refugees and recent immigrants suffer from unequal access to the job market. In France, in 2019, the unemployment rate for 20-24 year olds born outside the EU was 30.1%, compared to 18.4% overall.
PURPOSE OF THE IMPACT OBJECTIVES
To facilitate the social and professional integration of young refugees and immigrants while enhancing the experience of working people aged 50+ and retirees in France through an intergenerational and intercultural mentoring program.
IMPACT OBJECTIVES
- 1,000 pairs trained.
- 55% positive outcomes
- 51% of outcomes in employment.NB: positive outcome: obtaining a contract of more than 3 months, in training.

Work with nurseries and early childhood stakeholders to promote the ecological transition of these establishments and the surrounding ecosystem.
Télémaque
Encourage students to continue their studies and remove barriers to the professional integration of scholarship recipients and/or students from priority neighborhoods enrolled in vocational programs.
Messidor
Experiment with job coaching for people with persistent mental health issues who do not have RQTH status, and support them in finding employment.
Fondation Mozaïk
Improve the employability of students receiving scholarships and/or from disadvantaged neighborhoods, and support companies in their inclusive recruitment efforts.
Les Eaux Vive Emmaüs
Supporting people with mental health issues who do not have recognized disabled worker status in finding and staying in employment, using job coaching and peer support.
